Toyo Ito

Sendai Mediatheque (2001) reframed the public library as a forest of irregular tubes. Tama Art University Library (2007), Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture (Imabari, 2011), National Taichung Theater (2016).

Ito treats structure as something that can be both expressive and almost-invisible — the lattice façade of TOD'S Omotesando (2004), the white perforated mesh of Mikimoto Ginza 2.
