Rem Koolhaas

Co-founded OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture, 1975) and its research-arm AMO. Major works: Kunsthal Rotterdam (1992), Seattle Central Library (2004), CCTV Headquarters Beijing (2012), Fondaco dei Tedeschi (Venice, 2016).

Koolhaas's project is intellectual as much as built — *Delirious New York* (1978) and *S, M, L, XL* (1995) are essentially co-equal with his buildings. He has chronicled the present and future of architecture as both critic and practitioner.
