Subscription Terms
These Subscription Terms explain what you get when you subscribe to a paid plan or buy an add-on on Architectena, what happens if your plan lapses or you cancel, and how refunds work. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By subscribing, you agree to these terms.
1 The golden rule — your data is never deleted
We never delete your projects, posts or portfolio because a subscription lapsed. Anything over your current plan's limit is locked — hidden, suspended, or unpublished — until you get back under the limit or re-subscribe. The one exception is vault storage: for an account that never paid, unused files above the free limit are removed 30 days after the plan ends (with warning emails first), because idle storage is a real ongoing cost. Preserved is not the same as free to keep using — this keeps the policy fair (no surprise data loss) and non-exploitable.
2 What happens when a plan expires
- Day 0 — expiry. The end of your paid period.
- 3-day grace (Day 0 → Day +3). You keep full access so you can renew, back up, or decide. Nothing is locked yet.
- Day +3 — downgrade. If you have not renewed by the end of grace, the account drops to Free and the over-limit locks below apply.
- Re-subscribe at any time → everything unlocks instantly, with no penalty.
We notify you across the whole window — from 2 days before expiry through the end of grace:

3 What changes on a downgrade
A. Caps — over-limit content is locked, never deleted
If you're over a Free limit after downgrade, the excess is locked (newest first) and your data is preserved:

Unlock by removing the excess yourself (delete / remove / close) or by re-subscribing.
B. Monthly allowances reset to the lower tier
AI generations per month, posts per day, profile spotlights, and featured listings simply apply at the lower number going forward. Nothing is locked.
C. Premium features turn off
Capabilities such as AI authoring, advanced analytics, ad-free browsing, scheduled posts, priority badges, API access, and PDF/share export turn off until you re-subscribe. Already-scheduled posts still publish; API keys are deactivated until renewal.
D. The Office Workspace locks as a unit
On an office downgrade to Free, the whole workspace (projects, ledger, deliverables, documents, CRM) is preserved but inaccessible until you re-subscribe. The office's public profile and job-board presence stay live — those are free.
E. Your verified badge is kept
A verified badge you already earned stays — it's an identity signal, not a rented feature. Only new verification eligibility is plan-gated.
F. Add-ons are not affected
Add-ons you bought are independent of the main plan and are never revoked by a downgrade — see section 6.
4 Refunds and compensation
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, which also handles any card disputes.
Your protections
- 3 days Free trial on Pro / Practice — full access with a card on file; nothing is charged until day 3. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. The free trial is one-time per plan (per user or firm).
- The trial is your risk-free window — because you try the full plan free first, paid periods are non-refundable.
- Cancel anytime — your plan runs to the end of the paid period and you keep access until then; we simply don't take the next payment.
If something is our fault
- Paid but not activated — if your payment succeeded but the plan didn't turn on because of an error on our side, we activate it manually and extend the time to cover the gap, or refund in full if we can't fix it.
- An outage blocked a paid feature — if our bug or downtime stopped you using something you paid for, we credit or extend your subscription for the lost time.
- How to claim — contact support with your Dodo receipt and we'll respond within 3 business days.
No refund for
Paid periods — the free trial is your no-cost trial window · accounts terminated for terms violations (forfeited) · already-consumed one-time add-ons (e.g. a used boost or spotlight).
5 Data and external servers
Architectena runs on third-party infrastructure (cloud file storage, CDN, and the Dodo payment processor). We take reasonable measures — backups and redundancy — to protect your data.
However, in rare cases, data held on external servers we do not own may be lost, corrupted, or deleted due to events beyond our control (a provider outage, force majeure, or third-party data loss). In such cases Architectena bears no liability for the loss.
Please keep your own backup of important files. The vault is a convenience, not your sole archive. If an incident occurs we will restore from our backups where feasible, notify affected members promptly, and document the cause.
6 Add-ons are yours to keep
Add-ons are independent of your main plan. A one-time add-on (an AI top-up, a boosted listing, a profile spotlight, expedited verification) is permanent — you keep its effect regardless of your subscription. A recurring add-on (extra storage, extra seat) lasts as long as it is paid, independent of the main plan.
Add-ons stack on top of your plan — extra storage adds 100 GB per add-on, an extra seat adds one seat, and an AI top-up adds a credit pool. A downgrade never touches an add-on; only the plan-derived part of a limit drops, so an add-on can keep you under a limit and avoid a lock.
Because add-ons are permanent and standalone, buying add-ons to reach a given level of a resource costs more than getting that level bundled in a subscription — the subscription is always the better per-unit value; add-ons are the premium, keep-forever option.
7 You agree before you pay
No charge happens until you have seen and explicitly agreed to these terms. At checkout you'll see a plain-language summary and a required checkbox confirming you have read and agree to these Subscription Terms — the Pay button stays disabled until it's ticked. The summary and these full terms are shown in both Arabic and English.
- 3-day free trial on Pro / Practice — card required, nothing charged until day 3; cancel before then and you pay nothing. One free trial per plan.
- Auto-renews after the trial; cancel anytime to stop the next charge. No refunds — the free trial is your risk-free window.
- If your plan lapses: 3 days' grace, then it drops to Free. Your projects and posts are locked, not deleted — except unused vault files above the free limit, removed 30 days after a plan ends.
- Add-ons you buy are yours to keep — independent of your plan.
- Payments are handled by Dodo Payments (Merchant of Record).
- We are not liable for rare data loss on third-party servers — keep your own backups.
