Brazilian landscape architect whose Copacabana promenade (Rio de Janeiro, 1970) — the wave-pattern Portuguese-stone pavement — is among the most photographed pieces of public ground in the world. Designed planting for Niemeyer's Brasília and for over a thousand other projects.
