Career

Suggest edit
Irish-born designer who worked in Paris from 1907. Lacquer screens, the Bibendum chair, the E-1027 adjustable side table — and the villa E-1027 (Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, 1929), a small Mediterranean modernist house she designed for herself and Jean Badovici.

Legacy

Suggest edit
Le Corbusier later painted murals on E-1027's walls without Gray's permission — a violation she never forgave him for. The villa is now a French national monument and open to the public.
