Quinta Monroy (Iquique, 2004) — "half a good house" social housing where the state builds the difficult half (kitchen, bath, structure, roof) and residents complete the rest. Replicated across Latin America under his firm Elemental.

Aravena rejects "design as luxury" — Elemental publishes its incremental-housing typological plans for free, treating affordable housing as a discipline of constraint engineering, not aesthetic compromise.
